« on: August 22, 2017, 08:27:58 AM »
Any interest.
Had numerous request for it.

Driving bands would be tapered per the original
As well as the nose.
Any and all input is welcome!

so, is this one designed to be cast from a harder alloy (linotype)?

Mike

Yes - its my understanding that about 99% of it is cast in linotype or harder.

Ok thanks, I noticed the alloy type in the drawing and wanted to make sure.

Looks awesome for the 30BR/11 twist we chatted about.  I am interested!

Hoping it will fit better than the other bullets I have tried.

Will order as soon as available, and if anyone has input to make it fit better I also welcome it.

I'm newer than most of you gentlemen when it comes to new designs and cartridges so i was going to ask, how would this favor in a 30-06 pro hunter barrel with a 1/10 twist?
And the harder alloy mold type is for higher velocity loads? I'm confused a little, as with powder coating I'm getting decent velocities but wondered if the harder alloy mold was specifically for faster fps, or was there another variable folks needed something that hard to start off with. Please help me understand or direct me to a place to research the differences. Thank you

Two good books to have are:
Lyman Cast Bullet Handbook 3rd or 4th Edition
Lee Precision Modern Reloading 2nd Edition
Both cover the subject of bullet hardness and alloy
Lee has some information on matching alloy to pressure

Any thoughts on a .301 Bore Ride nose verses a .299 to a .301 tapered nose?
The original was a Bore Ride.

Thank you Al for the references. I do have the lyman 4th edition, and have reviewed it again. I'll look into the other Lee manual as well. Thank you for that.
You normally do not offer molds with a Linotype option so I wondered if this was for a very specific application.
At first glance reminded me of the saeco 175 fn mold that is a super accurate and popular mold. I like the look of it and would be interested if it was a good fit for my 30-06 deer rifle.

For those interested in CBA match shooting, this bullet design, holds a majority of CBA records, including 4 new one shot two weeks ago at a CBA rgional match, here in Oregon.

Since it won't be a nose pour mold, I would like to see this added to it.

For sure I want this bullet ALSO it would be a good bullet if it was also reduced in size for 6.5 mm for my bench gun. What do you think Al ?

I'd be in for brass single cavity moulds in both the original Eagan/Ardito design and a modified nose bore-ride version at .301" .

Will this thing stabalize at 900-100 FPS in a 1:10 ?

I kinda want a 200-220 grain cast bullet for use in my 308 at subsonic .
