(RD) Group Buy Discussions / Ranch Dog .44! TL432-249-RF-BQ2
« on: August 12, 2021, 09:42:03 PM »
Trying to get a re-launch of this one over on the Inventory Run Request subforum

I'm in for a brass PB 4 cavity RF as well as same in an RG.

These Ranch Dog tumble-lubers SO greatly simplify my life, and I haven't checked the .44 box yet!  :-[

Time for a bump.  Been very happy with everything Ranch Dog thus far.  Swirled in 45/45/10 tumble lube, they're a real time saver.

Would like to see these Ranch Dogs back in stock in PB 3 or 4 cavity brass.  I think it's been a while for these. :'(

For sure seeking a 4 cavity plain base aluminum solid.

Might also be seeking a 4 cavity plain base brass RG.

I have a couple of milsurp .308's that are a little fussy on their feeding, and so I would like a mold that makes a bullet with a nose like this:

However, I have had EXTREMELY good luck with the Ranch Dog .308 tumble lube system combined with the NOE push through sizing system to seat my gas checks, and I would therefore like my bullet to have a rear section like this:

My thought is that this would be the perfect .308 gas gun or finicky bolt gun bullet.

Anybody want to help me build this Ark?

No worries.  Had this strange case of Enfields breeding in the dark recesses of the safe demanding food.  I was beginning to get anxious. . . ;D

I now note that we've got this thread cooking, along with orerancher's for the "316-202",  jethunter's for the 314299, and Neilsuper's for the 311299 - all the same bullet but for diameter.

Not knowing if your tooling uses the same cherry for all, I couldn't say if that statistic is useful for spinning up or not.  If so, a merging of the threads may be in order.

Had an interest nibble on this notion over at Boolits, FWIW.

Already got a thread going on this a few weeks back, but still eager to play for this very thing, as well as the .316" version.  Assuming they run the same cherry with minor tweaks to the CNC coding?

I'm still pretty energized on this notion for the cartridges I mentioned in the OP:

Ranch Dog optimized his three .30 Short Necks for the 7.62x39, .300 Savage, and .308, and as such, they are designed to specifically fit those necks and SAAMI throats.  As such, load workup for my .308 Ruger Scout was child's play, and I have a practice load that "zeroes" at 100 yards using the same 225 yard scope setting used for my Barnes hunting load.

These suckers are VERY disruptive to the MKI milk jug, and given the stout noses, they are very accurate over hunting distances.  The tumble lube format coupled with Al's push-through sizer is a wonderful saver of time and effort, and they shoot quite clean with Ben's Liquid Lube.  I'd LOVE to see the concept branch out into the common hunting calibers.

This may not properly be a "Group Buy", though if it gets taken to that level, I'll have no complaints.

I've asked Al about the possibility of an inventory re-run of each of these to feed a pair of differing-bore .303Brits I've acquired, and figured this might help him sort out interest level for both quantity and format for the run.

I'm personally needing a brass, four-cavity RN-GC in each of the two diameters.

8/18/18 edit, for the sake of keeping track - pulled from several closely related threads:

1.  Bigslug 314299 4C RNGC Brass
2.  Bigslug 316299 4C RNGC Brass
3.  orerancher 316299GC
4.  jethunter 314299GC
5.  Neilsuper 311299 RG4
6.  Flycutter 314299GC

(RD) Group Buy Discussions / How about three new TL's (7mm and .30)?
« on: April 01, 2018, 07:37:33 PM »
I'm REALLY liking the TLGC .308 Winchester "short neck".  Would like to branch out into the following:

Same concept optimized for .30-06 - perhaps 200-ish grains.

Something friendly to the 7-08.

Something .280 Rem / 7x57 friendly (essentially the same neck on both).

Assuming Ranch Dog's agreeable to drawing them up, anyone want to tag along?

I got my toolbar all set up with the link to the new site, and now that link appears to be inactive, and we're back to the old clubhouse.

I got a couple posts up on the new version of the forum, but it looks like this one never stopped rolling.

As one who continues to be dragged kicking and screaming into this brave new digital age, I am a mite confused by the present developments.

Ok. . .a dedicated spot for the airguns then, and everything with powder behind it under diameter?
