Would anyone else be interested in a 124’ish grain TC mold for 9mm?

I cast the Lee 356-120-TC now from a 6 cavity but could definitely see upgrading to a higher quality set of blocks if available. Perhaps something along the lines of the Lyman 356402 could also be an option. I’d be interested in either depending on what the majority wanted. Aluminum 5 cavity is what I’d want.

I’ve thought about buying the RCBS 9mm-124-CN, but it has a nominal diameter of .356″ with 1:10 (tin:lead alloy). I was concerned about the size it would cast with my alloy, so I didn’t buy it. To me, it looks like it would be to the 9mm what the H&G 68 is to the 45 ACP. See: https://shop.rcbs.com/WebConnect/MainServlet?storeId=webconnect&catalogId=webconnect&langId=en_US&action=ProductDisplay&screenlabel=index&productId=3323

I’d buy a design like that it if cast at least at .358″ with WW alloy.

I could definitely run with that one as well Dave. I really like this type of bullet for 9mm and was surprised to see there wasn’t a TC design in NOE’s catalog already. Also kind of surprised this suggestion has fell so flat on it’s face so far.  😮

I’ve not bought a 356402 because my preferences have not leaned to steel molds and two cavity just won’t do. I really like the Lee 356-120-TC but find the bevel base annoying for sizing and lubing. I forgot to include I for sure want a PB bullet in my first post. I would also like to see this one drop at least a solid .358 if not a thousandth or two over.

Sure hope this gains some traction. I’m good with any of the three suggestions on the table at this point. Any other takers?

That looks good. I’d like the same scaled up for .40/10 around 175grs+.

                  Al,

That looks great to me. Its kind’a like a scaled down H&G 68. I’ll bet that would work real well for the guys shooting competition with 9mm.

I’ll take a 4 cavity, with RCBS/Lyman type top punch.

I’ll bet that would work real well in the 40’s too. I’d take one that drops at about .402″

I would like one in a 4 cav mold with Lyman/RCBS nose punch when available-
Will this be available in BRASS??????

I’d be interested in a 2 cavity. How about one in 124 grain, any interest?

I would be fine with either a 120 gr or a 124 gr PB mould. It really wouldn’t make any difference to me, as long as the bullets would drop at around .358″ to .359″ with WW alloy. I would like to be able to mix my WW alloy 1:1 with pure lead to stretch out what I have, and not have the bullets drop from the mould much below .358″. Whatever the rest of you guys want is fine with me.
