Anyone interested in a 311241? I know there is another group buy currently, but since it celebrated it’s second birthday last month, I’m starting to have some doubts as to when or if. For those unaware, it’s a 155 grain plain base plinking bullet. There was a 125 grain version offered as well though I’ve never seen one.

These are the dimensions of my Ideal 308241. For my convenience, I drew it w/o the crimp groove and made the crimp groove just another band. I’ll redraw, add the crimp groove and re-post.
I’ve seen at least one more version of this bullet that was .91 long but weighs in at 160+
I also have the short version of this bullet, marked 308241 S, they left .040 off the base band, making it .835 long, everything else apprears to be the same, including the crimp groove.

Upon closer examination, there is a lot more difference that I thought. Here are pictures of the two bullets. Yes, I know the quality of the pics suck but, it’s the best my camera would do. The crimp groove is quite different on the 308241 S mold. It’s the older style with interical handles. The pictures show that the cherrys didn’t have very good quality control and/or the design was improved to someones idea.
The standard bullet in 22/1 lead/tin weigths 154.2 gr and the S version weigths in at 142.8 gr.
I can’t give all bands a different width in the program, starting from the base, they are, .115, .060, .080 and .070. The S version is .075, .060, .050 and .065. What looks like a wide grease groove on the “S” bullet, is actually a tapered (about 15 deg), radius, crimp groove.
Here are two more designs of the 308/311241. The drawing isn’t mine but, one done by someone else, it’s a 311241. The grooves are simular to mine but, he drew the nose a lot different and it’s longer.
The picture is another marked 308241. He says that it is .880 long and it has a standard crimp groove, not radius like my “S”.
So, I guess it can have a crimp groove or not and the length can be any where from .910 to .875. My “S” bullet casts .313 with a .302 nose. The .880 long bullet casts .3118 with a .301 nose.
