Lead around the HP Pin

      I was trying out my new NOE 360 150gr SWC RG2 PB. I prepped my mold according to instructions and preheated the mold 3 x on a hot plate. I turned on the pot and started casting after about 12-15 casts.  I hit the sweet spot and had a good fill out and nice HP’s. Then, I got some boolits with lead down the HP pin. I inspected the hold and screw was lose for than pin. I tighten the screw and went back to casting and then the back cavity started sticking. I smoked the mold and had another 20 good pours and the flashing on the pin started again. I stopped.
      I cannot detect any small lead specks to explain this.
      Any suggestions?

        Take the pins off and check and make sure you don’t have any lead build up on them.
        With the pins off check and make sure the blocks close OK
        Reinstall the pins and make sure it closes OK

        Make sure you seat the pins on the RG brackets the same
        each time you close the mould.

        If this doesn’t help send it back and we will check it out

          Is it OK for NOE aluminum mold blocks to come together and still show some light between the halves? Or should you see no light at all?

            No light is good
            You may see a very small line, but none is good
