I’ve been thinking about getting a 22cal mold for my T/C Super 16 in 223rem. I do have to admit that i have not shot this bbl or caliber for any extensive time, so therefore, I have no idea on what weight or design of bullet to cast for. If I put maybe 100 rds of jword though it, that would be it.I plan on using it for target and varmint use , so my first though would possibly be a 55gr flat nose such as the 255-55fn. I’m open for any suggestions and thoughts. Also open as to powder recommendations too.
        Thanks for the help

Your 1-12 twist and short 16″ barrel will require a smaller bullet such as the one you mentioned. I would not go longer and heavier. The bore ride section should be a snug fit for best accuracy. Hit the books for powder recommendations….lots will work.

I have a Mini Mark X in 223 with a 1-12 twist 20″ tube. I have had great results with cast boolitz up to 70 gr. The 225-55 FN will shoot well, but it fits the longer neck of a 222 case better IMHO. The NOE 70 gr also shoots great in  a 1-12 upper with a 20″ tube that I put together for cast.

          In my 16″ uppers H335 ( WC844 ) has worked great.

I have loaded some .223 CBs with H 335But haven’t been to the range to try it.  I’m going to load up some CFE223 at different charges also.
