Made it to the range this morning to test my “Scout” mauser project.  I made 25 cartriges with the 326471.  21.5 grns. of 4759 (starting to run low on this powder).  Did not chrony the shots but estimate the fps at about 1800.

Excellent 100 yard accuracy.  It was a relief to know my 24/47 mauser was functioning smooth.

      Sorry about the blurry photo

          Hello Frank,
The COAL is 3.170″.  The  gas check is deep into the shoulder area.

I have three mausers.  The other two can chamber this bullet seated to the bottom of the neck.  This 24/47 has a much shorter throat.  I don’t like cramming the bullet hard into the rifling because of the problems in extracting live rounds.  I have not had any functional or accuracy issues with the bullet seated this deep.

                Hello Klaus,
The scope is a Leatherwood Hi-Lux.  I bought it from Midway for about $140.00.  It works very well and is bright.

Is the bullet seated to the base of the neck in the case?
