Fellow Smelters.
Although I’m primarily a revolver guy, a while back I bought a .452-230Gr HP RG4 for my 45 ACP. After casting up the first batch and showing them to some like minded cronies, the question arose. “Does he make one in 44 for the Special.
So I contacted Mr. Nelson with a preliminary drawing. He also mentioned to post it on the forum. It is basically a .432 diameter variation of the .452-230 HP PB for use in the 44 spl and 44 magnum. With wheelweight alloy should yield a 220 grain bullet with large hollow point and a 240 grain bullet with solid nose pin.
If someone would tutor me on how to post the picture, I will gladly do so.
As for a group buy, I informed Mr. Nelson I would be in for 3 each of the 4 cavity molds.
I would like to see it offered with 3 pins. One for solid, One for large hollow point and One for small hollow point or cup point pin. Thanks
Todd(edited, to add photo and further description )
The design was “revised” to shorten the nose to crimp slightly. The reason, IF someone were to have Mr. Baker of Freedom Arms to chamber the 97 in 44 mag, it would fit in their cylinder.
