      My new EDC gun is a 380 and unlike most 380 pocket pistols this one is fun and surprisingly accurate to shoot. I’m not enjoying paying $8/100 for plated bullets but quite frankly I’d rather be casting rifle bullets than pistol. Since quantity and ease of manufacture is a consideration I’d be interested in a 100-105gr RN profile design with TL grooves, nothing fancy. I suppose a RD FN profile would be a possibility but my first choice would be a RN.
      I know I’m not the only one carrying a hideout gun and 380 ammo is still sometimes a bit hard to find and a bit expensive. We might as well be shooting these little popguns and if we’re shooting them we might as well load and cast for them. Besides, it feels a bit odd to buy bullets.

        Not a roundnose, but I did get a thread started to reboot the FN .32 and .380 on the Ranch Dog GB discussion session of this forum.

        For what it’s worth, I qualify a lot of officers on their backup/off duty pieces, and the Winchester Q4206 FMJ flat nose seems to feed OK in about everything. . .including my 1908 Colt and 1910/22 FN.  Have a buddy that uses the RD mold for his LCP and had very good results on a possum.

        But yes. . .we need pocket pistol molds!

          I generally carried something a little bigger for off-duty of backup duty, my little 60 thought it was a target revolver and was always fun to qualify with. Only a few of the instructors knew I was a longtime PPC competitor, lol.
          I’ve heard about the RD 380 bullet, big fan of his rifle designs. Will check it out.

            The Ranch Dog 100gr would fit the bill. Though Lee has a 95gr .380 mold that is very similar, I believe the main difference is the ogive between the two.

                I actually enjoy shooting the Ruger LCP. I carried a Kel-Tec P3AT for years and compared to the KT the LCP is quite pleasant and surprisingly accurate. I like the Kel-Tec but the LCP is a big improvement.

                  The 100 grain Berry plated bullet is the most accurate bullet I have found for a Glock, under 1-1/2″ groups at 25 yards, so I would be interested in a 100 grain for a 9mm, primarily for powder coating.  This plated bullet is a round nose, hollow base, which allows it to be longer giving more barrel contact.  The hollow base mold would just be an inverted hollow point design leaving a flat sprue cut on the nose.  Possible, other bullet designs like the new 358-128 could be used instead of a round nose.
