All of the round barrel Rossi R92s are drilled and tapped for the Rossi scout scope mount. Unfortunately, the Rossi base has been unavailable for at least a year now. I recently sent Al a base so that he could reverse engineer the required barrel contour and taper along with the mount hole alignment. I also suggested that he use picatinny spacing rather than the random Weaver slot spacing so that the base could be used for other sight options.
There is no doubt that NOE can build a better mount than Rossi. There is quite a bit of interest in the NOE mount on my Rossi-Rifleman forum and I will start directing that interest here so that Al can estimate the demand and whether the product is financially feasible or not.

Thanks for leading the interest JD! Unfortunately, four out of the five on my rifles are epoxied down, but I will replace the mount on my 357 Mag. In fact, I’m in for 1 or 100; however Al would like to work it. I will sell them through the Rossi-Rifleman forum and eBay if it will help Al make a go of it.

Glad to have this opportunity to ask directly your consideration in producing for sale a replacement part number 892, scope mount for the Rossi. If you do the search, any company whom claims to have ever carried it does not have it in stock. Rossi themselves don’t seem to put to much importance to keeping a healthy stock either. I have been looking for last year and half. If you have the means to produce it, I don’t think you could loose. Please sign me up for three, thanks

Could we get a close up of the mount, with and w/o the scope attached?

NOE has not produced a mount yet, this is only an topic that will indicate whether there would be enough interest to make the project financially feasible. The mount would be basically the same as what Rossi has offered in the past, the P892 mount, but with spec picatinny spacing which allows the use of just about any ring or mount.
Swede is going to need the one mount I have available, that I have not epoxied down, and I’m really not inclined to send it to him if there is not much interest as that rifle is in use daily (there are no other sources for a mount at this time). I’m busy hunting hogs with the rifle right now.
