I got 300 lbs of sheet lead from a friend. And while melting it down to make ingots, I notices the lead turned blue. What should a do with it?? Is it still good or is it junk??

You just got it a bit hot while melting it down.

The outer surface of pure, unadulterated lead takes on a purple or blue color (sometimes with green streaks) when it gets more heat than necessary.

Is there any way to remove that bluish color?? Because I tried remelting down the ingots in the Lee Pro pot, and the color stayed there. Just wondering because it is super soft lead I was just going to sell it. And like 150 lbs of it has that blue color.

It’s just oxidation.  Nothing to worry about.

You can try fluxing at a lower temperature, but it may not give you the color change you desire.

The blue is good.  It’s an indication that the lead is very pure.
