9mm 147gr PB Slick Side (no lube groove) for powder coated suppressed shooting

I’ve been looking for a heavier bullet around 147ish gr for powder coating and shooting suppressed. The HTC mold design here is pretty good, but I want one just slightly heavier. Is there interest in such a bullet design?

Maybe something like the lyman mold #356637 but without the bevel base and no lube grooves.

Was playing with some bullet design software. This is what I came up with. Anybody see some major flaws with this bullet design?

Hey cornmastah, I just got a copy of the TMT software too! I haven’t designed anything but I’m having fun learning.

Yeah, I looked at that one-I just want a slightly heavier bullet. I shoot a lot of suppressed 9mm and the powder coated bullets work best for clean barrels and clean suppressors.

Looks great. Maybe the nose is a little long for some guns, and some may need a little bigger than .356 but I’m sure you made it to fit your own.

Powder coating usually adds at least .001, so I figured doing it at .356 and powder coating would make them .357 or .358 depending on the powder. As far as the nose goes, it is hard for me to know how long it really is without holding one in my hand or seeing one in a 9mm case.

Yes I’m sure you’re right about the diameter and the coating.
I would usually consider .27 for the drive band lenght and .36 for the nose lenght (.63 total).
But that’s in my guns.
