I really love the.309/ 150 Gr SP for PC so much in my 300 Blackout I would like to get the same slick sided profile for my 6.5 Grendel. This would be the perfect plinker for fireforming 7.63X39 to grendel. A boattail option would be awesome. Once word gets out that your making this you would sell plenty!

If you can get a few more people interested and have a design in mind, we can draw something up and get it going.

This bullet, which is designed for the Grendel, is available as an active inventory run:  http://noebulletmolds.com/smf/index.php/topic,1890.0.html
However, if you still want to draw up a new design, we can do that and see how many people we can get to sign up for it.  New designs take 10 people signed up in order to run.

I saw those, but I was looking for a pointy bullet that could be PC coated without grooves.

I was playing with some drawings.  How set are you on the pointy tip?  I seem to get a higher BC with a little larger flat meplat.

Also need to look at how much bullet is sitting inside the case vs outside the case.  It would affect the case volume for powder and such.  I need to go measure one of my grendel cases to see how long the neck is.

I got the 30 cal sp  155 pc mold not long ago.
I really like the spire point. It is exceptionally accurate in everything I have tried it in. I love the slick sides and it is fantastic with powdercoat.
I was in on the group buy for the 174 BT. I should have it this week. I expect it will be a good one also.
I have had so much fun with the 155 Sp I wanted something just like it for my Grendel.

                              I like that ne a lot…
Did you tell me the BC was higher with a flat meplat? If so that’s interesting..
If I were.making it.for myself I would point it, I would buy it.either way. Is a bevel base possible? Just a bit easier loading.
                              But …YES

yeah, I was playing with the meplat diameter and bullet length inside the case–if I make it more pointy, then the BC goes down, unless I increase the nose length.  I still need to try to measure the neck length of the grendel to see how far this bullet would be sitting in, but I kind of like this design.  As far as beveling the base, personally I am not sold on bevel base cast bullets, but have not tested them much to have a real opinion to go off of.  I do know that with a regular plain base, it is easier to have a “perfect” squared base when powder coating vs the bevel which can have imperfections due to the powder coat.  For example, like where two bullets might stick together on the beveled area, and when you break them apart it may leave an imperfection in the coating.  I would think that this would make the bullets fly worse than an almost perfectly squared base with a plain base config.  Maybe it’s all in my head–I need to test it out.  But if I were going to shoot this bullet, I would probably want it in the pb config instead of bb.  2 cents?

Yes I would have to agree on the PB easier to get that clean edge
I know some of the High BC jacketed rounds are significantly longer ?
