I have a NOE 311-115-RN and I have casted up a few hundred of these beauties with Gas Checks and powder coated them. My question is they now weigh 119 grain. Can I still use the load data for 115 grain bullets? Normally when I can not find exact load data I just go with data from a heavier bullet. Should I worry about using load data for a 115 bullet when these are 119 grain?

I have read that a lot of people use H110 powder for the 30 carbine but its not listed in my Lyman Cast Bullet handbook at all for the 30 carbine.

Thanks for any help you can send my way.

If it were me, I would lower the starting load slightly and then work up.

I will reduce the starting loads a little. I have read that H-110 does not like to be reduced. I also have some 1680 on-hand (8lbs that I purchased for 300 blackout and now I have the new powder made just for 300 blackout). H-110 is not even listed in the Lyman cast bullet handbook.

It says that N110 would be the most accurate and it lists 2 cast bullets using it. both Lyman, one a 115 gr and one a 130 gr. every powder they list shows a little less for the 130 gr compared to the 115 grain EXCEPT for the N110 its 10.0 starting for both weight bullets? All my local gun shops do not sell the N110 and I just got a order in from Powder Valley so I do not want to buy it from them because I do not need any primers and primers is what makes the Haz Matt fee worth doing.

With the 1680 it lists the starting load for the 115 grain is 14.0 and starting for the 130 grain is 13.5 grain.  I am thinking of 13.8 grain for my 119 grain bullets to use as a starting load.

The max is 15.0 (compressed) for the 130 grain bullet so I will stay under it for sure. I never do max loads. I am not doing anything except shooting steel or target shooting with it.

I wish I knew others in my area that reload so we could combine orders and share haz mat fees. I think that is one of the problems with shooting at my own range and not one at a company, I do not get to know people.

Yeah, I always try to do bulk powder ordering with shooting/reloading buddies.  Splitting a hazmat fee is nice.

Have you looked at AA9 powder?  I bought some WC820 several years ago and was told it was a pull-down powder from 30 carbine. The suggestion was to use AA9 data. So maybe Western Powder Co., who makes AA9 has info on their website that will give data. Or click on the link at the bottom of this page for Castpics and search for 30 carbine…they have a selection of loads using different powders and bullet combinations. It’s something to look at anyways. Hope this helps.

I don’t load for 30 carbine…I use this in magnum handgun loads.
