Would anyone be interested in something like this for 45/70? NOE has a small gap weight-wise in this area for a 375 grain bullet. It would be easier to handle an aluminum mold than a heavy cast iron one. Just thinking of myself here because my old arms have a difficult time with a heavy mold during an extended casting session.

If you have an idea of a design someone could draw it up for you, drawings always help a buy along.

This is been here for a while….I give my friend few casted bullets for measurements but he is now on holiday and I just get out of hospital. Back surgery…I was there 12 days. There is few who stated that they will send Al sample bullets but I think it is been forgetted… If I send few bullets to Al it cost me atleast 40€…..

Teemu…This looks very similar to the one you have a thread started for. The one I saw in the Midway USA catalog has 2 or 3 lube grooves instead of 1 large groove. But nearly the same design. I think this would work in a 45/70. Maybe one of the forum members have this mold and can cast a few and send to Al.

Well like that orginal thread there is few fellas who told that they own that mold and will send Al samples but I think Al didn’t got any. I’ve been discussed via PM with cornmastah and he agreed do drawing if he gets measurements….so at this moment we need to wait and see if anybody has that mold or similar model like #21 etc. and could provide samples or measurements. When my friend comes back holiday at somepoint not sure exact date…then I can get and send measurements to cornmastah and we could look if there is enough interested peoples to start GB

I’m hoping that someone has a mold and will send a few nice ,well formed bullets so a good drawing and a photo of the bullet can be shown to the forum members. Nothing promotes a Group Buy like a good photo of what you have to offer. I looked at MidwayUSA again last night and think these are one in the same. They  have 2 bands and one groove.

I got my mold from Buffaloarms. But pictures of bullets are quite poor on that place….

If anybody has the mold, I can take measurements and draw it up.  I just need a bullet or two.
