I would like to have a 6.5 mold for a BT and GC HTC bullet at around the 140g, I was thinking of a bullet designed off a scaled down NOE 310-174-SP.BT but with a GC option as well as the BT. Anybody else need a bullet like that.
Would need advice about what could be cut and what cannot be, can we have a SP or a very small flat nose, maybe someone can jump in and let us know what can be done, KB
I see no listing for the 310-174-SP.BT bullet you quoted…. can you provide a link or a drawing?…. Scaling that bullet down to 6.5mm would result in a weight of only about 110-115 gr….
Basically the bullet would be .264 smooth sided with a 1 inch radicus nose finishing with a small round point and either beveled or gas checked base and around the 140 grains, Can anybody draw that up for a look see, KB
I logged in to the forum today specifically so I could make a post about wanting this same exact bullet, but before I did, I searched the past posts and found this
This needs to be done. Come on, why are the 6.5 options on the NOE site so lacking given the extreme popularity of this diameter? I have tons of 308-312 stuff, but there are no good 6.5 options and this HTC BT design re-drawn for the 6.5 would be a fantastic addition.
My target would be to use this for 6.5 PRC, but obviously a lot of guys would want it for Creedmoor too.
Basically just going for as similar to this as we can, but in 6.5
I can’t keep the same proportions as a .30 cal bullet and still get the weight to 140gr. I kept the nose length about the same and extended the body to get about 135gr. What dimensions would you like me to change from the drawing I posted above?
For the PB version, that looks fine (is that a little bump where the ogive meets the shank? The 30 cal version seems to have a more smooth rounded transition)
Other than that, and a boat tail version and I’d pass the ball back to any others interested in this Buy.
