Some alloys will cast bigger than others??? I’m using COWW straight. What could I add to increase size of my bullets? Temperature makes a difference.. Don’t have a PID ?? Lee pot, bottom pour, had for years, used to cast for flintlock round balls, pure lead. Point me in a direction to improve my bullets. Thanks in advance. Les

Hi temperature alloy and mould, pressure pour, high antimony alloy like linotype (only recommended if you have absolutely perfect bullet fit).
Will only get you a thou or so at best, how much extra girth do you need?
After that lapping and or Beagling. Bumping can enlarge bullet diameter but the bullet design decides how practical that might be and maybe require specialist bump dies.
Get a mould that casts the size you want with the alloy you have.
Thanks for the reply. I’m shooting a Bighorn Armory model 90 in 460 S&W. Shoots 452 jacketed fine. Bought it specificly for shooting cast. Having some success with a Lee 300 gr RNFP gas checked and powder coated. Size and check at .452 and powder coat after sizing keeps the dia at 454. A fired brass slightly flared in a Lyman M die takes that bullet easily and chambers no problem. I have five loaded to try just crimped into the crimp groove to keep the bullet from moving. Just ordered a bushing push thru sizer with a couple different bushings for 454 and 455. Also got some spuds for the Lee Universal flaring die on the way. I’m close to success, and will keep you posted of my results.
