Would like to see a .615” diameter round ball mold.
Why? 20 gauge slug shooting versatllity.
Shoot from smoothbore, no shot cup( just wad seal and fiber wad and filler), but fabric patching.
From rifled 20 gauge barrels -or rifled choke tubes, patched round ball, no shot cup needed, for “ direct contact” with rifling for gas seal and accuracy.
Simple to load, low cost alternative to expensive factory sabot slugs, effective, accurate, and no bore leading issues.
20 gauge bore diametersrun .626”, so a .615” ball diameter and a .010+” patch thickness gives you a great platform for effective game load.
Yes, I know NOE has a .626” slug mold ( for 20 gauge rifled barrels). It is on my buy list- just want a roundball 20 gauge option, that does not need to be fit in a cup.
KISS method. Simple and effective.
Please make it happen.
Any interested 20 gauge shooters? Please make some noise.
