I would like to see a rerun of the NOE version of the RCBS 22-055 FN, the NOE # 225-61-FN, which uses the tool to produce this mould….
NOE already make a .243 version by interpolating out to a diameter of 0.245″, the NOE # 245-75-FN…. I propose that they do a rerun of the .225 version, above, (which is nearly out of stock, only limited versions left)…. and at the same time interpolate the tool out to produce a .257 cal version…. The LOA would remain the same, at 0.645″, but the drive bands would be 0.258″, the bore riding nose at 0.251″, and the meplat would end up at 0.142″…. and the weight would be about 83 gr…. If there were orders for .243 cal moulds, they could be made at the same time, saving setup costs, since all three moulds would use the same tooling….
If you are interested in this idea, please post in this thread, and indicate which diameter(s) you are interested in…. .0.225″, 0.245″ or 0.258″…. and also indicate if you would like a Lyman HP pin included….
I would like the following, please:
2-cavity aluminum in 0.225″ GC with a Lyman HP pin….
2-cavity aluminum in 0.258″ GC with a Lyman HP pin….While we are thinking about this, it is also possible to make a shorter, lighter version of all three calibers, by machining the cavities shallower to lose the gas-check shank…. NOE already do this for the .243 cal as the NOE # 245-64-FN, with a LOA of 0.568″, which looks like this….

This shorter bullet would weigh 52 gr. in .224 cal and about 72 gr. in .257 cal…. I would also be interested in the shorter versions as follows….
2-cavity aluminum in 0.225″ PB with Lyman HP pin
2-cavity aluminum in 0.258″ PB with Lyman HP pinI realize this gets confusing, with a total of six different designs possible…. three calibers and two lengths…. but when you consider these can all be made with one set of tooling it is something that NOE might consent to if there is enough interest….
