I just lost on another auction for an original H&G 51 GC mold at a very high price. I sure wish NOE would produce a clone of this bullet as talked about years ago.
I think they did make a clone for that one. Check the store for inventory…358 cal. It is a 158 grain if I remember correctly. Didn’t check if they have any in stock.
Just checked the store and they have a few in stock…mostly brass…didn’t make any with GC. Some with HP pins.
Did Al draw up a version of the gas check one? Hope it is heavier than the plain base as 158 seems light especially if you shoot a 357 rifle. Any idea what the weight of original H&G mold was?
I did a search on Google of H&G molds and couldn’t find an example of a #51 with a GC. That doesn’t mean they didn’t make them.. it’s just that their info is somewhat confusing. Would like to see a line drawing for it…. might be interested.
Al should have the sample I sent a few years ago. The weight is not to light, but it really depends on what you want to do with it. Al did make a clone of the Lyman/Keith 358429 it is heavier 176gr + or – but the nose is to long for feeding in any rifle I tried it in. H&G did make this bullet also and a gas check version was available.
