      Seams the .270 Win gets little options when it comes to bullet selection. I have always wanted a bullet with a bit more meplate for faith in performance on deer. I have a .280 throat, a .270 bore and .277 groove. Something like the 279-126-FN-E2 but adjust body diameter to .280, add another driving band, and change the meplate size to .16 inches. Target weight between 140 to 150g. That should add a good bit of crossectional density.

          From your description I would imagine that the cast bullet would look something like this.
