Ok
Just because I am curious … I played around with the 225 tumble lube cast bullet that I believe that you referenced, & after recreating it in my TMT software, I super-sized it to a .260 dia.
Looking at the SAAMI spec for the 25-20 cartridge between the cartridge case length and the Max COAL you are technically allowed a .262 max nose length…
The TMT software predicts for a GC version at an ~ 80 Gr (after the GC is applied, & the cast product is lubed & etc… )
The GC version OAL projection is ~ .590 with a SD of ~ .330 leaving a projected nose of ~ .260… to get ~ 80 grains… after all is said & done.
I believe that the SAAMI Spec cartridge max for the nose projection is .262 on the cartridge COAL…
The PB version is projected to weigh in at ~ 77 grains with a projected OAL of ~ .590, a SD of ~ .330 & a Nose of ~ .260… using as a basis the SAAMI 25-20 cartridge dimensional spec…
That is about the best that I can do for you at the moment with the scant information that you put into your posting…
I do not have the capability to post drawings on the NOE forum at the moment… so the above description is about the best that I can do for you right now …
in the for what it is worth department I have to move the two crimp groves .030 forward to make the .260 nose dimension.
Otherwise the nose would have been too long to make the SAAMI COAL… Thought that I should add that bit of intel to this reply…
You still need to talk to Al once you can round up some more individuals who might also be interested in said cast bullet intel… based on what I have given you as a rough draft set of projected data…
Once that happens I will be happy to email to Al my basic intel on this subject so that the wheel doesn’t need to be recreated once again…
It is what it is…
