Hi – I bought and use a lot of your Expender Plug and I am very happy with them… when I can use the right one for my bullets.

I have trouble with reloading cast bullet for 38 s&w … My cast bullet are sized to .362” and .362” / .363” is indeed what is needed for all my Webley Mark III (cylinder throats are strong .361”)

With soft lead (96 or 100 %) the “ideal” Expender Plug should be .364 – .360 ….  which is not on offer (closest one is .360 – 358… which a used for the moment despite it is not perfect).

38 s&w is quite a popular old caliber, a pretty nice good one for cast bullet, and so I guess I am not alone with this problem…

Any chance to see a .360 – 358 (P) to be added to the offer ?
If not… any chance to have it as a custom order ? (if so what would be the process ?)

by the way 329  – 325” would be also nice (for the french 8 mm lebel revolver)…

and the cherry on the cake … would be the making of Powder compression plugs with a large choice :)

      Best regards

You might want to possibly read the NOE group buy rules & the NOE inventory run rules… to start with…

Some of your questions might possibly be answered … in those two postings by NOE.

The group buy rules tend to come into place with a request for an item that has not been made before and that there is no specific tooling for.

The inventory run rules come into play for an item which has been made before, which is currently out of stock…

Last but not least in 2018 there was a rather detailed topic explanation in regard to expander plugs on the NOE forum that might possibly be of some interest to you…

The above intel might possibly begin to answer your questions that you may just apparently have… A machinist with a lathe might be able to knock out what you are looking for … if you were able to make up a detailed drawing on what specifically you are looking for.

Most probably a competent machinist can knock one out for you … in no time flat.

Finally if you tend to cast soft you (Almost pure lead, as you originally tended to indicate.) you will most probably not get the same cast diameter that you would have if you had added a bit of both tin & maybe a tiny bit of antimony to the melt… They both tend to allow the bullet to more completely fill the same mould cavity … However they do also tend to make your cast product a tiny bit lighter… It is what it is.

I can start one of my unofficial lists in regard to a new 38 S&W expander if you wish… to see what other members out there might also be interested in your expander request… Or you can begin it yourself once you read the first two links

We can potentially start with 5 requests for that expander design to see what potential interest there is out in the forum for a new expander line of thinking … That way you will know if there are other forum members who might have similar interests in a new case expander design…

        I do sincerely wish you luck … in your 38 S&W endeavors…

        Take Care, & Stay Safe…
