What kind of load are you thinking of using for yours?  I still need to pick mine up.  Too many molds to try out and develop loads for ha ha.

Got it in the mail yesterday, looks great as usual.  Cant wait to get some cast up to try out in my 45-70 lever gun.

Well I was thinking this would become my “shooting load” bullet to replace the HTC-459-354 I have been using since it is soooo easy to cast with.  I figure being a bit lighter it would recoil a bit less even if I push it faster than the heavier one. And if I push it faster it would shoot a bit flatter than the heavier bullets making shooting (actually hitting) easier as I would need less holdover for longer distances. With that I got the GC version and will most likely just load it with the same load I was using with the 354 HTC.  We will see if this holds true or I need to adjust it or try a different powder.

The load I use is the classic load of 22 grs. of 2400 which in my Marlin 1895 SBL pushes the 354 HTC (360 grs. with PC and GC) out at 1,340 fps.  I figure with 50-60 grs less weight it will get up closer to 1,500 fps or so which should be about right what I was looking for. This load works well with a few different bullets in the 45-70 (350-405 gr. range), is clean shooting and loads easy in my Dillon progressive. When I got the 45-70 I was already using 2400 in my cast bullet Milsurp rifles so it was easy to just use it for the 45-70.

I hear you about the moulds piling up, I just got the HTC 502-694 going so I could try it out in my .500 S&W Katahdin  barrel for my T/C Encore and now this one shows up.  ;D

I’d call the shop, but I know the girl who does the shipping has been out sick, so they might be a little backed up with the shipping.
