Is there any interest in the following mold?

Lyman Bullet Mold #225415 22 Caliber (225 Diameter) 55 Grain Flat Nose Gas Check & plain base?

Evidently, Lyman shows a 45 grain version in the 3rd edition Cast bullet handbook.
Does anyone know why?

Also, if anyone has this mold and would be willing to send a couple samples to Al for measurements, it would be greatly appreciated.

This is a bullet I have wanted for my 222 Remington.

I secured some samples from 35remington from cast boolit form. Where can I send them?

send them to the noe shop and throw a note in with it that says “give these to cornmastah next time he stops by.”  Al will give me a call and I can swing by and pick them up and draw them up.

I would be interested  in a plain base mould as there are no 22 cal. ones available in the NOE web store . My hands just don’t work well enough to put on the gas checks.

I am interested. I believe there has been at least two versions (profiles) of this mold by lyman over the years. I’d like to see some discussion regarding which is the preferred version – if there is one and opinions are out there. Like to see it with a bit wider meplate than the mold I have. 55 to 60 grains would suite me.

I to would like to see a wider meplat for those who want a hollow point option. The sample bullets I will be sending to cornmastah are the older style. The current Lyman 225415 appears to be longer with a wider meplat.

I sent the picture to Swede.

The picture shows the newer 225415 next to the Lyman 235462. They appear to be the same length of 0.678 and definitely a wider meplat. Hollow pointing the newer version is definitely an option.

Lyman style HP pins can be used by NOE with Meplats larger than 1/8″…. AFAIK….

Well, I’d love to see that older version with a touch wider meplate – something closer to a wide flat
