Is there any interest in the following mold?

Lyman Bullet Mold #225415 22 Caliber (225 Diameter) 55 Grain Flat Nose Gas Check & plain base?

Evidently, Lyman shows a 45 grain version in the 3rd edition Cast bullet handbook.
Does anyone know why?

Also, if anyone has this mold and would be willing to send a couple samples to Al for measurements, it would be greatly appreciated.

This is a bullet I have wanted for my 222 Remington.

Any consensus developing on this one? From the photos, it looks like the older version has a smaller meplat than the current one. I like the shorter older one – But would like to see a meplat at least as wide as the current version. How’s that for confusing?

If this chart is right it is 55 grains.

This is useful when looking for old Ideal/Lyman molds…. Only one mold which I bought on ebay isn’t on this chart..

If someone has dimensions I can draw it up.  Or if someone has some unsized bullets they can send in, I could get those and draw it up.

In “Reply #3” – 25Remington says that he has samples and asks where to send them – Then he is advised in the next post to send them to NOE. Just wondering If that already happened, or they are in limbo somewhere . . .

Gentlemen,

Sorry for the delay in bullet samples. Unfortunately, the samples I received were sized and gas checked.

I have texted 35 Remington to see if he has any unsized bullets. Update to come.
