Moderator::One might try to just have them to try to sign in to try to do a posting to support a subject … to see if they can indeed do a posting on the forum subject mould or moulds in question … confirmation email or not …
Also there has been recently a rather large number of new members joining the forum … lately.
If as you say that those new members are not getting an individual confirmation email … on just joining the forum…
Then logic may be just be dictating that it may be that there is a time choice on doing those confirmations needs the physical time to get the new forum members confirmations, sent out to those new members just now joining the forum … or doing production runs in response to previous forum requests …
It may simply boil down to be a choice between NOE officially taking time out from production time … to send out individual forum email confirmations, or to concentrate on running new mould production for stock on items that may be near and dear to one heart … so that one can post on the forum …
I seem to recall a while back where Al posted that there was a choice of keeping the forum open, or simply shutting it down … as tending to the forum postings also tended to take away from production time… when asked a related question, a while back.
The NOE forum is something special …

Moderator::The last shipment, or two of product to me … there appears to have also been no confirmation email from Al, that my order has now completed being processed, & that my order is now complete …
The extras like drilling the temperature probe hole are apparently done individually, after the fact … once you have placed your order … Some want the option some do not …
I would imagine also that on other items … like the sprue plates, & such … that they also may also be added at that time… when the basic mould product is ordered…
Finally those products that offer the option to have added a teflon coated sprue plate … would necessitate removal of the standard sprue plate, & the installation of a teflon coated sprue plate.
That would mean potentially doing the same process work twice if the item was put in the stock bin with a standard sprue plate already installed…
Again it is simply an observation, & hopefully a logical deduction on my part…
The order confirmations that the order was now complete, along with the USPS tracking number … did not happen …
Since the USPS issues those numbers in the order that they are paid for … it is most probably something that is also not an automatic function …
Not all websites are setup to be the same … My forum confirmation appeared to come through manually … way back when …
Also at least for me … there was an option to add ones email address, or not when one is registering on the NOE forum … to get on the NOE email list …
Al even mentioned it in the last couple of emails that included a video in regard to the last sale that just concluded on the 20th…
It’s not a big deal … It is just what it is …
That is why I suggested that you tell them to sign in & try to post …

::Here is the feed back from one of the guys trying to sign in
“ Jay Andrew The gentleman who is responding to your “it’s broke” post is not getting that we can’t sign in. That’s the problem. When you create an account and try to sign in it tells you that you need a confirmation email that never comes. It even asks if you want them to send another and it never comes either. I’m sure NOE is using someone else for their IT support so Al doesn’t have to stop machining to fix this, just needs to put the pressure on who he is paying to do the job. I can’t imagine how much revenue they have lost due to crappy forum function.”

Moderator::That tends to answer that part of the equation …
It appears from what very little that I can see as a member … that in the last year that there have been ~ 3000 + new members applying for membership on the NOE forum …
That’s a whole lot of new individuals to go through to send manual confirmations to the members…
More over…
It appears also that there has been in excess of 2000 new members in the last two months of this year alone… that would tend to put a damper on the speed of the manual confirmations …
Doing the confirmations automatically in a cart blanch manner … may not tend to be the best idea automatically either … as there was unfortunately … until recently … there appeared to be a whole lot of potential spam postings that have had to be apparently culled by the forum administrators … on a daily basis …
I might suggest that you privately get together with your group, that want to post in favor of a specific mould item, & get a list of those members and their individual email details & addresses.
Then you can submit that specific intel to Al, via a private email with those specific details … so that Al doesn’t have to write each, & every one of them down …
Maybe that will work to address those new members posting issues in that manner …
Who knows…
I would not under any circumstances post that intel publicly on the forum… lest that open up another potential can of worms for those new members…
Your call on how to proceed …
Personally I found that patience tends to be the best avenue of approach on this, & other matters…
Sometimes it tends to take a while to get what one wants… Slow & Steady tends to win the race…
It is what it is…

Participant::It appears that the recent outage of the NOE website has a positive outcome. I saw that the site was back online, tried to log in to the forums, it stated I need to confirm my email and asked if I wanted another email confirmation sent. It hit my spam folder immediately and once I moved it to the inbox, I clicked the link and obviously it worked!
