Thanks, yeah if you’ve played around with some of the 300 blk molds around out there, you can understand why this bullet was designed the way it was. Should be simple to use for the AR15’s and still work decent in the bolt guns too.
I’ve been trying a Lyman mold very similar to the NOE 311-222-RN-K3 and your comments in the video about bore-riding, etc. seem to be spot-on: w/o PC the nose section is about .301 and lightly engraves so I have to watch my alloy carefully for dimensional stability. Also, the blunt profile ‘encouraged’ me to do a little polishing on the feed ramps.
With all the case capacity sub-sonic loads using A5744 don’t seem as accurate and lots of unburned kernels, even with CCI-450 primers and a snug crimp.
Your design criteria mentioned in the video makes sense – TANX!
