Rossi R92 Scout Scope Base

All of the round barrel Rossi R92s are drilled and tapped for the Rossi scout scope mount. Unfortunately, the Rossi base has been unavailable for at least a year now. I recently sent Al a base so that he could reverse engineer the required barrel contour and taper along with the mount hole alignment.  I also suggested that he use picatinny spacing rather than the random Weaver slot spacing so that the base could be used for other sight options.

There is no doubt that NOE can build a better mount than Rossi. There is quite a bit of interest in the NOE mount on my Rossi-Rifleman forum and I will start directing that interest here so that Al can estimate the demand and whether the product is financially feasible or not.

I don’t go around joining forums left and right although I’ve considered logging on here before I haven’t gotten around to getting into casting yet.

To help get this going I’m in for at least two mounts with picatinny rail spacing.

IF they are to be produced in black and silver I’d go for 1 silver for my .44 and 1 black for my .357.
IF they are only available in black I’d still be in for 2.

It is possible I might be in for another black .357 for a buddy and MIGHT want another silver for a yet another .357.

NOW if you can find a way to co-witness a red dot with a receiver and/or tang sight… Yeah I know wishful thinking at best.

Ok, I found a place in TN that says they currently have them. I have sent them an email to verify before placing an order. They are more of a sporting goods store than a “gun” store, so they may not picked over yet. If they don’t actually have them in stock, I know of one more place that may. A local gun store/pawn shop always has a supply of lever action Rossis, both new and uses. I’ve seen some there where people have modified with Steve’s Guns parts, so I wouldn’t be surprised if I found one with a scope mount as well.

The place in TN was actually out of stock as well, but the local shop had one on a new Rossi that they sold me for $10. I should be able to ship it off to you tomorrow. Do you need/want the screws as well?

let me add to it …. my buddy having problems with the front sight on his 16″ R92 has decided he wants a rail. So, that bumps my request up to two instead of one.
