All of the round barrel Rossi R92s are drilled and tapped for the Rossi scout scope mount. Unfortunately, the Rossi base has been unavailable for at least a year now. I recently sent Al a base so that he could reverse engineer the required barrel contour and taper along with the mount hole alignment.  I also suggested that he use picatinny spacing rather than the random Weaver slot spacing so that the base could be used for other sight options.

There is no doubt that NOE can build a better mount than Rossi. There is quite a bit of interest in the NOE mount on my Rossi-Rifleman forum and I will start directing that interest here so that Al can estimate the demand and whether the product is financially feasible or not.

If you are interested in a NOE Rossi 92 Scout Scope Picatinny Rail, please express your interest here!

          Round barrel R92 in 38/357

Just about given up on Rossi sending me a P892 scope mount.

I’ll take one any color or in the white.  Willing to paint it!  Willing to buy a plastic one if necessary!

Saw a guy with a cardboard sign out side the shopping center today. Sign said:

Can someone tell me if there is a difference between the early M92 and current Rossi R92 that would prevent this mount from working on a 45 Colt chambered rifle, other than the fact that the barrel would require drilling and tapping?
I haven’t actually checked the barrel’s OD, but I’m sure it is fairly thin and would require careful bottom tapping to accomplish successfully.

I’m interested if the mount comes in stainless AND you can provide the screws (which I presume are some metric thread).  Need one for a 20 inch stainless 45 colt.  I got one of the Rossi mounts for my blued 357 about a year ago when they last had them.

I will take one. BTW all round barrel Puma 92s are not drilled and tapped.

I’d also be interested in one for 357 Rossi…

And frankly any of you guys that own one and are just using irons – if your getting into the years when things like cheaters/bifocals are bearing down on you I’d get one while you can because at some point irons don’t work as well as they used too.

Are Ranch Hands drilled for a scope base?  Either way, I’m in for at least 3, maybe 5 depending on final price and if the RH is drilled and tapped or not.  Any easy way to tell without drifting the rear site out of the dovetail?  I have an older Puma 454 as well.
