All of the round barrel Rossi R92s are drilled and tapped for the Rossi scout scope mount. Unfortunately, the Rossi base has been unavailable for at least a year now. I recently sent Al a base so that he could reverse engineer the required barrel contour and taper along with the mount hole alignment.  I also suggested that he use picatinny spacing rather than the random Weaver slot spacing so that the base could be used for other sight options.

There is no doubt that NOE can build a better mount than Rossi. There is quite a bit of interest in the NOE mount on my Rossi-Rifleman forum and I will start directing that interest here so that Al can estimate the demand and whether the product is financially feasible or not.

If you are interested in a NOE Rossi 92 Scout Scope Picatinny Rail, please express your interest here!

Damn! Found this thread too late – Are these going to be made again?

Would really love a black one… I see there is still silver ones listed – if no more are getting made maybe I just nab a silver one :)

I recently picked up this LSI Puma in 454 Casull.

As you’ll see it has some custom features….such as a piece of Cambridge-Lee copper tubing for a magazine tube, and a rear peep sight over the safety.  (Yes, I got it at a discounted price).

My goal is to add a scope mount, as it is drilled & tapped. However, I still want to be able to use the current setup, as it won’t always have a scope on it.  Is the NOE scope mount low enough to mount and still use the peep sight?

I’d be willing to use the stock Rossi piece with the improved screws, if that’s the only option that’ll work.  The NOE item looks more substantial and well-made; I’m just worried it might be a little too tall.  (hard to tell, looking at photos).

I’ll take any advice or opinions I can get (besides selling it!).

              Thanks

Is there anyway you could get a line of sight height. Say run a string of dental floss through the aperture to the front sight? Should be able to figure it out from there.

You peep looks like a Skinner adapted to the receiver, nice. Magazine is sure different. You know what happened to the original or why it was changed?

Any chance a scope base for an octagon barrel could be made?

The barrels are not drilled and tapped. About the only solution is the Pearson Mount.

my Rossi LSI M92 is drilled & tapped.  I founded out the only way – to buy it and get it installed.

It works fine.  I can see the front thru the rear with the mount installed.

As far as the tube, I read the early 454 Casull had some problems with the magazine tubes.  This was a solution.

Hopefully y’all can see the photos.  it worked fine.

I can see clearly over the mount and still find the front sight thru the read.

The LSI Rossi was drilled from the factory.  and the custom tube is a solution to the early 454 Casull problem.

Here is an update – photos show the NOE mount with Burris 2x-7x scout scope and Burris Zee 1″ low rings
tried several rings – this setup works best. just barely clears. Great mount.

I like that Skinner sight on that 92. How difficult was it to put it there? Could you post a better picture of it?
