When BRP released his designs to NOE, a thread was started that asked what molds we’d like to see produced. I am particularly interested in Bruce’s design mentioned above. This bullet is very accurate when loaded to the 1100 fps range and cast of a soft alloy. I’ve used it in a 38 Special carbine with great accuracy beyond 200 yards. Would it be possible to get this design into production now?

I’d be in for sure. Should have ordered one of these when BRP was still in business. Shot some that a friend had cast up and loaded. My Model 14 S&W loves this bullet design.

I’d be all for getting the design going at Castboolits if Al is okay with that. I really don’t care to have it in the discussion forum as I know the design works VERY well as it is. I’ve seen too many designs go wonky there because of the “I want this” syndrome. My attitude is “here it is, buy it or don’t!”

For those of you that haven’t had a BRP mold, I can assure you that Bruce tested his ideas SEVERAL times before he arrived at the final design. It flat works and is uncommonly stable out to some LONG ranges. It has been shot, by Bruce, from a 38 Special revolver to 300 yards and beyond. Granted it was a rainbow trajectory, but it remained on line! THAT is an accomplishment in design IMHO.

I have one od Bruce’s original 4 holers and if this goes I will take a 4cav AL so that I have one in reserve. IMO this is the best darn design to come out of BRP. My sleeved H&R 38 special eats these bullets like candy and they are way more accurate than they have any right to be, even waay out there. My mind also loves the pop….pause….bong of bouncing these off distant steel targets. Somehow it just soothes my soul.
