I’m interested in getting a close/moderate range WFN with a very large meplat for lighter weight 44 hunting revolvers… I have a couple 4″ 44 Mag sidearms that I want to feed with it for thickets.
Although this isn’t listed on the inventory pages, Al has the tooling in hand and has suggested running it as an “Inventory Run” to save time. The tooling used for the 411-251 WFN could be used and would render a bullet near 275 grains with a meplate of .352″… 432-275 XWFN, maybe?

With the recent interest in full-diameter wadcutters, this seemed like an overdue option to heavy-cover hunting with packing guns.
Al has offered to post a drawing when time allows. Hopefully that will be soon.

I’m still game for this dense-cover-hunting hammer… Seems perfectly suited to my shorter barreled pack guns.

Pending a look at the drawing, I’d be interested too.  Sounds like a great idea. ;D

I’ve been watching this and would like to see a drawing as well. Bump up for Al to see. ;D

I’d also be interested in this weight for my 18″ barreled 444 Marlin bolt action (Turkish Mauser 98). It loves the 265 grain bullets but a XWFN would be nice to try.

Take the 411-251 and bump all of the diameters by 0.030″ to 0.031″.

The cutter for the 411-251 is the tooling on hand.  By offsetting (or orbiting) it 0.015-0.0155″ in the mill, it increases the diameter by twice that amount.  All other geometry remains the same (length, ogive, crimp groove location, lube groove width, lube groove depth, etc).

Count me in also. Would be a nice thumper for, well, almost anything.

I would be interested in this too. And maybe something for 45 colt also. Would the same tooling be able to make both? I would like something about 280-300 for the 45.

Yea, I was wondering how this turned into a 45 caliber bullet, as well.  ;)
