I’m interested in getting a close/moderate range WFN with a very large meplat for lighter weight 44 hunting revolvers… I have a couple 4″ 44 Mag sidearms that I want to feed with it for thickets.
Although this isn’t listed on the inventory pages, Al has the tooling in hand and has suggested running it as an “Inventory Run” to save time. The tooling used for the 411-251 WFN could be used and would render a bullet near 275 grains with a meplate of .352″… 432-275 XWFN, maybe?

With the recent interest in full-diameter wadcutters, this seemed like an overdue option to heavy-cover hunting with packing guns.
Al has offered to post a drawing when time allows. Hopefully that will be soon.

            I’d go for a .432 plain based 5 cavity aluminum.  ;D

                Good looking bullet.

                But I think I’ll pass.
For me, this would be a .444 Marlin bullet.
It’s pretty close in nose shape and weight to several other designs that I have.  And those body bands just don’t look substantial enough for my liking.  Pushed to proper velocity in my 1:20″ twist barrels, I suspect the bullets would skid across the lands.  I’ve seen it quite a few times, before.  (One .444 Marlin, in particular, thinks all bullets want to play slip-and-slide.  ::))
In slower twist barrels, especially at handgun velocities, it would probably do well.

The full diameter .1″ of the nose just ahead of the crimp groove would be included in the total driving band bearing surface. With 43%+ of the total length being in barrel contact, it should compare favorably to most designs out there as far as grip is concerned… Having substantial driving band width at the very front should help reduce skidding tendencies, I would think.
As a short-to-moderate range “thumper” option in shorter belt carried revolvers, lets say a 4 inch barrel, I think this design shows a lot of promise.

I see a PB version in my future.  :)

Can this be moved to “Active”?
There appears to be more than the 5 interested required.

Would be a nice addition to this year’s hunting season!  lol
                    C’mon Al???

I would opt for the 2 cavity PB RG2.
