Hi, people were joking around (but being serious about the mould) on the reloading central fb page about doing this.  What would be the chance of this being designed into a mould?16473936_10209165192069353_9223156160647251092_n_zpscqyfgjqg.jpg

I, sir, never joked about this.

It does need to be reversible SWC/hp.

Can you have multiple cavity hp moulds? How does the hp pin function in these types of moulds?

Bonus if they actually fit,  and fit well on a real Lego guy, so my children can play with customized Lego heads (joking about having my kids play with them,  but serious about having them fit a Lego person)

would you really want the same dimensions so that the bullet will fit on a lego man’s neck?  I mean, if at least 10 people would buy it, I THINK Al would make it.  He might put a disclaimer on it like, “I had nothing to do with this design” but I think he would make it if at least 10 people sign up.  I would need dimensions to try to get it right on the drawing.  I also assume yellow powder coat powder would be required?

Yes,  I would like the same dimensions. The actual head diameter may need to be enlarged a few thou,  but that wouldn’t be noticeable.

Yes,  yellow powder coat is in order. May even employ the better half to paint the smiley faces on

The other problem I foresee is the bullet weight.  With part of it hollowed out, it probably wouldn’t weigh much, or at least enough for any kind of “normal” published data.

Well you could always just add some length to make up for the weight. Out of the case it would look different than a lego head but once it was seated (either way) it would look right.

I will work on some dimensions over the weekend.

                    That would be fantastic.

Then get us a price and a minimum order number?

                          So,  as a newcomer, that’s 87 or 130 ish?

Would a bullet that shape fit into the throat of a pistol barrel without having to be seated very deep?

It is somewhat of a wadcutter shape . . . and they need to be pushed down quite a bit . . .

Did you have any luck with coming up with dimensions for this?

My CAD software is having a fit right now, and I’m not going to even attempt this design with bullet design software.  So, you get a quick sketch.

I measured a handful of heads and this is the average that I came up with:

                                  Notes:
Most current-production heads have a cavity on the top, as well.  That’s what I measured, even though the flat-top version looks better.
The cavities on top and bottom are not round.  They have ‘lands and grooves’.  ;)  Diameters shown are to the bottom of the grooves.  (Hence the outer diameter of the top nubbin being smaller than the diameter of the bottom cavity.)
The noted fillet radius is used top and bottom.
These things have fantastic tolerances.  Most were within two to three tenths (ten-thousandths) of each other.
                                  And I’m forgetting something…

I don’t see any errors, but there may be something hiding.
                                  Any questions… let me know.

That bullet would weigh like hardly anything with that long of a hp (neck hole)…
