Has anyone ball parked the weight yet?
About 97.5 gr in pure lead, with the solid top and hollow base as drawn. Standard bullet casting alloys would, of course, end up even lighter.
Feel free to check my math.
I have an internal volume of 0.034 in^3 for the head (kicked out by a CAD program), which is about 0.55716 cc.
The density of pure lead at ‘room temperature’ is 11.34 g / cc.
That means 6.3181 grams, or 97.5 gr (and some change).
But, of course, it probably wouldn’t work with a hollow cavity that deep or that straight. So if this were to be done, the bullet would likely be at least 25% heavier (I’d be leaning toward 40% heavier).
Right now, the scientific types are clawing out their eyeballs, due to my mixture of units of precision / significant figures.
