Participant::I’ll start off by saying I’m very happy with the results that I’ve been getting so far, I’ve only been shooting the light ones so far but the accuracy is great. The other day I was shooting cans from 60-75 yards with ease with them, I doubt I’ll be buying anymore .25’s cause now I’ll just cast them, now it’s getting the pure lead (that’s what I used) that’s going to be the hardest part. Like any mold they can be a little finicky at first but once ya get the hang of it you can really make a lot of them fast.

Participant::Michael I have a full tin of the regular 34 grain JSB’s but my tin of the MKII’s probably only has 25 left in it, hopefully I won’t need to buy anymore, I’ll find out once I get my Mrod shooting again, it’s apart right now waiting for some parts I ordered from Crosman. When I get it back together it’s going to have the SS valve in it so it’ll be great on the heavy stuff.

Participant::HI I got the Mould and I am having a problem of wobbling pellets down range so far I tried
1. 6BHN pure lead
2, 8 bhn
3, 9BHN
I also tried unsized pellets in 34 gr
I tried sized with NOE pull threw sizer at .250 , .249.248
still wobbles
I tried in 3 guns with choked barrels , hatsan bt-65 elite , edgun r5 super mag and a fx wildcat mk2 ,
I tired vary speeds from 800 to 940fps
I did get new pins yesterday , Noe sent new pins saying they can damage molds I tired the 34 grainers with new pins unsized and sized to .248
I get about 1 of 4 that do fly straight , I even weighed them
has anyone had this issue????
please help
I did have mould with NOE thermometer and lead was proper temp
My thought is having 1 of 4 fly straight can it be only one cavity is good ?
I did buy the 4 cavity mould2018-06-11 at 06:59 #510934michaellovett
::How do the base of the skirts look? They must be clean, with no waves or inclusions.
And a biggie. DON’T size the pellets. The skirt has to expand when fired. Any reduction in size can cause problems.
I just got off the phone this morning, (The 12th) and Swede, (AL) agreed. Don’t do it! LOL!!!

::Yes, the solid will not act as a skirt and be able to flair. Sizing may be required here, as the skirt, even though solid, will be oversized.

The hollow skirts however, will act just like a JSB or any other pellet, self sizing too thebore upon firing.

Swede sent shipping notice today. Woo-Hoo!!!

::Testing started with the new NOE Pellet mold in .25. Here is where I am so far, —
As I first mentioned, the first cast were disman. Usually after my mold prep, they are very good from the get go.
However, it has been said that .22, and .12 are extremely hard to cast well. This pellet is has even thinner parts, (Base) and is by far the hardest thing to cast I have ever tried. The 34 Gr NOE’s were abismal. Terrible, wouldn’t even cover it. They looks somewhat ok, but shooting at even 30 yards, many missed a 12X12 target backer. Just useless!
Decided to try the next heaviest pin. 36 IIRC. Much better. First shots were NOT good but settled down quickly. As you can see here.
The Skirts are much smaller in dia. than JSB’s. I was under the impression that they were modeled after the JSB”. Nothing is similar. A big mistake making them smaller in dia. Can’t imagine what they would do this. Falls straight thru my mag with some pellets. GRRRRR!!!
First shots were slightly scattered, and walking toward the actual final group. The final group is 9 Pellets in one hole at 30 yards.
Yes, I know, no indication of how they will perform at longer ranges. So far, not all that impressed. Will try the next heavier pin again in an hour or so.As you can see, the group really began to shrink. Hope this is the results of the bbl. leading in for this mix of lead/Tin.
For some reason, the pic will not show, First 4 shots scattered, but were heading toward the 1′ target dot. Finally, the full 9 shot mag, went into one hole. This may very well be the results of the bbl. leading in to my lead/tin mixture. MOre thesting today.
Next, third heaviest pin.

Participant::Al I am happy with how my mold is performing, I did three five shot groups at 20 yards with the 34, 36 & 38’s (it varies a half grain) however from the beginning I really had my heart set on the brass mold blocks myself. I understand that I can’t hardly return a used mold but I’m willing to buy just the brass blocks (preferably at the aluminum price with the 15% discount) if I can do that ??? I’m one of those kind of people who’s impatient when it comes to something like this because I wasn’t willing not to use the aluminum mold and have to wait a month for the right mold blocks. Your response would be greatly appreciated.
I’m unable to do more than 20 yards because of the room situation where I’m at and it’s illegal to target shoot at the state land that I go to however maybe I can try sneaking in some sort of 50 yard target out there of some sort in the near future.
I’ve been using nothing but pure lead myself, it seems to be working good, here’s the 3 different 5 shot groups that I was talking about that I did yesterday at 20 yards.

I did this shooting from a window sill so it’s not like I was doing a bench rest shooting.
here’s a link to a video I did shooting some chipmunks with the 36.5 grain ones.

I did buy the 4 cavity mouldcould be that you do not have the pins just right… if even just slightly to loose you will get a bit of a rim on one side of the base of the skirt that is hard to see but you can feel it with your finger…

Participant::Well I got out on the state land today early to beat the heat, I wanted to set up a target at 50 yards to see how the pellets are doing, The pellets are actually the tin from my first run of the 34.5 grainers which I eyeballed for sorting with very few rejects (probably 10 out of 300) where the skirts didn’t fill out good. The target I set up in a cornfield there and I was using a fence post to rest on, I was still weebly wobbly so I was basically pulling the trigger rather than squeezing it. I did do video clips of the target basically showing my first and second shots and of course 13 more for three shot groups, after that I decided to fill a couple more clips and do a little shooting in the woods too. I ended up getting a chipmunk after following a red squirrel through the trees only to watch him disappear. I’ll get a red with it next time

Here’s a pellet that I recovered from the target that was stuff with old rags

Participant::Hi I posted earlier with the 25 caliber pellet wobbles
NOE did send out new updated pins , I did reclean mold and install new pins and I made up alot of pellets
I then made 10 pellets from each cavity to see if I had one bad cavity
they still wobbled when I shot them
Well at 100 yards I am getting most pellets wobble about a 12 inch circle
If I stand up pellets it appears skirts are not even I think this is problem .
Has anyone had same problem ? is it possible the old pins damaged mold?
I do own many other NOE molds including the 30 caliber pellet mold and this doesn’t wobble
I also tried different guns and different speeds , I even tried sized and I resized them to .250 , .249 ..248 , they still wobble I tried at speeds of 700 fps to 940 fps
Please help what can be issue ??? if the old pins damaged mold can this be problem ????? -
