Hi!
Now that I have accumulated a nice pile of molds, I am trying to put together an order for all the sizing equipment I will need to size my NOE .22 and .25 airgun slugs, and I wanted to be sure I don’t miss any necessary items.
I have a push through size die body (and .22 and .25 pushrods), as well body bushings from .215-.223 and .249-.253, in my shopping cart already, but I wonder if I will need the larger diameter ones ever? Most of my barrels slug between .216 and .219, or .249 and .251. I wish they came in half sizes, like .2165 etc., and I wonder how others handle sizing in increments smaller than .001″?
Advice on a suitable press for sizing would also be appreciated.
Am I forgetting any other components or factors? I am new to this casting adventure, so any help from experienced airgun slug casters would be much appreciated!
Once I get my $1000 club discount code I hope to place a “one-and-done” sizing order so I can get right to work!

I use a simple Lee press, but I mounted it inverted, it’s much easier for sizing that way…. You can just drop the slug into the die….
I purchase bushings from 0.002″ under the groove diameter to 0.001″ over, at a minimum…. Outside that range of sizes, the velocity drops off….
Virtually all shooters find the best accuracy between 0.002″ under and 0.001″ over groove diameter as well…. If they are available, you could get from 0.003″ under to 0.002″ over, just to be sure…. You can polish a smaller bushing up to a larger diameter with very fine sandpaper on a metal rod…. You roll the bushing on a rubber mat, with the sandpaper covered rod through the center, holding the rod at both ends…. Here is a short video, showing Lee sizing dies, but the process for NOE is the same…. You don’t measure the ID of the bushing, but rather the diameter of the slug it produces, when enlarging it….

A few additional questions, if I may?
Is the press in this link the same one you have?
If not, do you know the model number for yours?
I guess for the sizing dies I will get .215-.220 and .248-.253 for now, but will expect that I may need duplicates in the future as I open some up as needed. I do hope to eventually mount .223 and .257 barrels on some of my project guns, but I will wait until then to acquire the appropriate dies..
Does that sound right?
