Mine was in the mailbox 4-20-15 and I cast with it today. After cleaning and heat cycling twice, I fired up the casting pot with the mould on top to preheat. A little tweaking on the adjustments, a little lubing and away we went……after several casts with the RCBS ladle I switched back to my Lyman. A few more casts and perfectly filled out bullets were dropping. I checked the time and cast for 1.5 hours. One set of bullets(4) were set aside during the middle of the casting session. Checking with a micrometer, I’m seeing .3102″ on the driving bands and ROUND. 3 weighed right at 169gr, the 4th a few tenths heavier. AWESOME!
It appears that it will be an excellent fit in most of my ’06s, 308s, and 7.5×55 K31s. The shank lenght appears too long to work in my 300BO AR.
According to my old spring scale, 9.3# x 7000gr /169gr = 385 bullets in 1.5 hours (4 cavity, ladle cast, water dropped)

I have shot these through (3) 30-06s from 50 yards to 500m. Mine dropped .3102″ from my 96-2-2 alloy, and I S&L in a .311″ die. Saturday was a day on the silhouette range with a couple of iron sighted (Lyman 48 longslides) ’03s, and I was impressed. Today it was benchrested from my old Rem700 with 6x comparing (4) different, similar weight bullets, and this was the winner. Obviously more testing is needed, but if you’re throat isn’t more than .311″, this would be a recommended bullet.
I have both the .309 and .311 version molds. Hornaday Gas check fit is VERYGOOD snap on fit on both diameter molds. Great Job…Thanks!
Pot temp needed to be hotter 800 degrees (ladle) to get best fill out using my #2 alloy. Remington 700VS is throated much longer and .3111 diameter bullet seated out loooooong with slight resistance when closing bolt. I will test soon.
