Anybody have any favorite loads to share using this boolit in the .30-06?
I have a few different 30-06 molds I’m currently still trying out to see what I like most. I started with accurate 5744 and really across the board done well with my cast boolits. Recently I purchased some ramshot big game powder specifically to try with a 230 grain hollow point for the 30-06 ( NOE rg-311-247-fn)
I am trying both methods of powder coating and traditional Felix boolit lube. Seems my sweet spot is in the 1950-2100 fps with the heavier boolits using the Felix lube set up. Powder coating I can push alittle more without any fouling issues I’ve noticed.
The fastest I’ve shot so far was in the 2400 fps range and with a 150 grain spire point ( NOE 311-150-sp) otherwise somewhere in the 2000 fps seems like a good place to be targeting. I’m also not using gas checks. Just plain base so far.
