314-129-SP for Russian SKS

I would recommend that you slug your barrel to determine groove diameter & size your bullet 1 thousandth larger than groove diameter.  I’m loading mine at an OAL of 2.160 which corresponds to the crimp groove.  So far I’ve loaded it over 25-26 grains of Reloder 7 at a velocity of about 2200 fps.  My accuracy is terrible so far out of a usually accurate O-PAP AK & I’m trying to figure this out.  I’ve been advised to water quench my Lyman #2’s & load with less powder to a slower velocity.  BTW, all 3 of my AK’s have .312 groove diameters though I’ve read that SKS’s & AK’s should be .310.  Since your bullet is not gas checked, I would definitely try to keep it around 1700-1800 fps.  Please know that I’m a newbie at this, so take that into consideration.
