      Hello everyone,
      Shot 2 groups with the 325365 NOE 8mm after preliminary sight in.  First group on the left, then readjusted scope for the second group in the black.  3″ target for reference. 
      100 yards, front rest only.  Basic NcStar set on 4X.
      20 gr. AA5744 with Win LR primers.  Seated with half the gas check still in the neck.

      Pointed bullets don’t necessarily mean less accuracy.  I think the very long bearing surface contributes to good results.

              Thanks for the nice comments guys.

              I feel the 8mm is a great cast caliber, especially with heavy, long bearing and gas checked.  I size .325″ and have been using lube from 10 years ago.  Zambini Red. 

              Below is a 1941 Turk, cut down to 23″.  I have since installed lower rings.  BRP silhouette 200 gr.

                  Who makes the scope mount rail, Jeff?
                  I’ve used Weavers in this application for years, but was unaware of a rail contoured to fit the stepped down barrel of the Turks.

                    I bought a blank rail from Brownells and had my machinist friend mill the bottom to fit the barrel.  Barrel and mount were drilled and tapped with four 8-40 screws.

                    I put the Turk in a Hogue stock and replaced the rings with Weaver low.  I think the original wood and bedded stock is more accurate.

                      Is that a scout scope mounted up there?  I’ve never tried one, but it sure would be nice to not have to modify your bolt handle.
                      Looks like your turk shoots very good.
                      I sporterized one a few years back just to see if I could.  It turned out reasonably well, but the barrel is really worn out bad.  It slugs at .328″ish.  I tried some Speer 150’s in it and at 25yds I got 6-8″ patterns, but when I tried some Speer 170’s I could get close to 1″ at 100yds.

                        Yes, it is a “scout” type scope.  No need to alter the bolt handle or safety unless you want to.

                        The scopes on these Mausers are very cheap but work ok in good light.  There are much better on the market.  Leatherwood, Weaver, Burris and Leopold are all very decent.  I will be upgrading the optics after the credit card is paid off from the holidays.  I have a Weaver scout 4X-28 on a Rossi 92 that is compact and with bright optics.
