      After dragging out a misaligned LYMAN double cavity 375449, and reminding myself how their QC has been less than stellar in recent years, I thought how nice a beautiful brass clone of this classic favorite would be.
      The original often threw bullets at .378-.380 with #2 alloy, and has a proven record of easy to find accuracy at a wide range of velocities. It is well-known for it’s hunting effectiveness through various .375s, but may be most popular in the 375 H&H.
      Some things are worth keeping around…I think this design is one of those.

      Anybody else interested in getting Al to make a few of these correctly?

          I’m in for a brass version… Hopefully there will be enough interest to make this one happen. It would make a nice addition to Al’s inventory list.

              Cainttype , I have to laugh because I also have one of those bad molds. It looks like it was cut with 2 different cherries. I was looking for something in the 300 GR. range, but yes I would take one of these molds preferably in a 5 cavity.

                  A plain base version that cast at least .380 would be just great. And, having the gas check located closer to the base band would be appreciated. These bullets hold excessive lube already, no need for more down at the base. Actually frnkeore’s drawing increased to .380 diameter would be closer.

                    BTT… ’cause I STILL want a good version of this mould.
                    I think it would make a great addition to Al’s inventory list. This design’s long-standing popularity is a testament to it’s versatility and utility.
                    Looks like we’re almost half-way to getting a run.

                      I have a good Lyman (and fairly new) 375449 and my 375 Big Bore loves it. Shooting buddy just bought a 38-55 with a bore a bit tighter than my 38-55’s, thinking a PB 375449 would be just what he needs.

                        I’m in for one.  I have a 375 H&H that I haven’t shot because I don’t have any molds for it.  Pretty sure it doesn’t like me at the moment ;)

                          This bullet is one of the finest I put through my H&H and will take any thing down you point it at.  Great design with plenty of lube grooves. I for one would love to have a 5 cavity . If you have a .375  sign up, don’t let this slip by.

                            I have an early Lyman mold that casts a wheel-weight + 2% Tin alloy at a diameter of  0.3755″. When I Beagle the mold to cast at a 0.379″ diameter, my 1907 vintage Marlin model 1893 will shoot that bullet lights-out.
                            I won the Harris, MN Lever Gun Match 2 years in a row. and placed 2nd or 3rd in many more with that bullet.

                            These are the dimensions of the as cast bullet from the Beagled mold.
                            If Al could set up these dimensions in a group buy, I would definitely be in line for a 5 cavity aluminum mold.

I go in the stupid box at least once a week but never actually dug to the bottom of it!  I need to clean it up and cast a few to see if  will be happy with it or if I will still want an NOE mold.  I did just buy the NOE BRP mold.  Casts nice but have not shot any yet.</p> </div><!-- .bbp-reply-content --> </div><!-- .reply --> <div id=
