Is there any interest in a crimp grooved 40 cal bullet?
I am thinking of something along the lines of the current NOE 403-180-RF.
I am using this bullet to good effect with black powder in my Uberti ’73 carbine in 38-40, I just fill the case with Swiss 3f seat the bullet on top and crimp over the shoulder to stop the bullet moving forward, lit with a LP magnum primer it is capable of hitting my 4″ gong all day long at 100yrds.
However for less case filling smokeless rounds the design needs a crimp groove for underlevers, also maybe a bigger lube groove as well, the current design holds sufficient lube for my 19″ barrelled carbine but a little extra wouldn’t do any harm.
Maybe a scaled down .432″-200-RF 44-40?
What say ye?
