Anyone have some good loads for the 230 grain wadcutters in 44 mag cases? My red hawk can shoot clover leaf groups with the Keith mold over 7.4 of green dot. I was thinking either 5.0 of red dot or 5.5 of green dot as starting test loads then move up or down until I find a sweet spot.

So I answered my own question – using R-P 44 mag cases with 5.6 grains of green dot under the wadcutter with 2 grease grooves lubed with White Label BAC, sized to .431, seated so that it is lightly crimped in the top crimp groove/grease groove, I was able to put all six shots into a ragged 1 inch hole at 25 yards with my 7.5 inch ruger redhawk.

Thanks for the data – not much WC info to be had

Nice. Try about 4-5 grains of Titegroup under that WC and see how you like that. It might even work better with less. Burns nice and clean. I may have to get myself one of those molds. I like the 215 HBWC in .432 so why not a .45?

I am currently using a load of 10.8 grns of HS6 with this bullet. I use Randy Rats Green TAC on bottom two lube grooves. I crimp on the third lube groove which results in a snug fit into the throats of my Redhawk. Longer than average brass my cause chambering issues.  Sized to . 431″ is making a very comfortable and accurate shooting round for me.  Haven’t chronographed yet.
