One of my favorites is a 5-cavity 434421.  It drops beautiful, consistent bullets from each cavity.  When lubed with a 50/50 mix of White’s C-Red and BAC and sized to 0.431″ ahead of 7.1 grains of Unique, the accuracy from my Freedom Arms 97 is just AMAZING!  These loads will run just shy of 1000 fps.  Nice.

I’m using the 434-235g hp bullet over 6.5 of Unique in an old Lew Horton 3″ model 24 and it is about as much as I can comfortably shoot with the tiny service grips on it.  The load shoots very well in a 4″ mdl 24 and a 4″ mdl 29  I cast the bullets out of a fairly soft alloy ( Rotometals hardball alloy blended 1lb to 3lbs pure lead) and size them .430 in a star sizer with their blue lube.

I’d love to be smart enough to do that, Creeker, … but for now, I remain in the dark ages.  Maybe one day I’ll take the time to figure it out.  For now, please accept my regrets.

It is a nice looking revolver — ivory micarta grips and a 5.5″ barrel.  I added the Freedom Arms mount with a Trijicon RMR red dot sight to assist my aging eyes.  Off of a rest, it will easily shoot under 2″ 5-shot groups at 50 yards.  I wouldn’t believe it if I hadn’t done it (several times) myself.

            Dwayne.

I tried my new 215 gr HBWCs over 4.5 gr of 231. First shot was a pinwheel X out of my 3″ model 24. The overall group was not so tight but I think it will work better sized to .431 instead of .430. The load is comfortable and seems to work well with the hollow based bullet.

My Model 24 6.5 inch simply dotes on 7.5 grains of Power Pistol and the NOE 434421 sized to .433″ to fit the throats.  Weight out of my alloy is 263 grains.  Gun simply stacks ’em off the bench.

                  Hope this helps,
