                            I feel like a pregnant woman nesting….. ;D

I have to shoot up some .45 ammo, deprime and size, clean the brass, trim cases, reprime, and then wait on the mold to get here.

Going to try 4:2 or 5:2 COWW:SOWW with ~2% tin added. Air cooled should still be tough enough to withstand .45 Colt (Ruger) pressures yet expand easily on a deer.

Going to try 800-x, 2400, and N110. I’m sure I can get WAY over 1300′ with N110. I’d like to find a load to hunt with that fell between 1100′ and 1250′. Not sure I can do it with 800-x. Pretty sure I can do it with 2400.

I got a case of Starline that I’m priming. I don’t hunt with .45, ‘just cowboy shoot with my Peacemaker.
But I got a bunch of milk jugs that have been idling around in the backyard near my big dirt pile and I’m going to make short work of those rascals!

Had a package in the mail today. I have no idea how it got here so quickly, but it’s here, and it’s beautiful.

I wasn’t expecting both pin sizes! I think I’ll start with 3 large HPs, one flat point, and see what they weigh before getting to deep into making bullets, but the mold looks great and I can’t wait to use it!

                                :) :) :) :) :) :)

I washed my mold out last night, with plain soap and water, and tonight I warmed it up, let it cool, warmed it back up (heating the pins HOT) and started casting. I don’t think I had the cavities clean, as I had a large number of wrinkles, so I had to cast a while before bullets begin to drop cleanly. I then let it cool back down, then maybe an hour later I warmed it back up and made a nice, big pile of bullets very quickly with very few rejects.

One cavity drops very quickly; the other three take a bit of encouragement, but all of them drop off the HP pins very easily, so much so that I was honestly surprised.

I have a nice pile of pretty bullets, and hopefully before bedtime I will have a nice pile of loaded ammo. I’ll chronograph and shoot some groups tomorrow, I hope. I am VERY pleased with this mold.
