Did some shooting with this bullet today tried 10, 11 and 12 gr of Green Dot shotgun powder. I had feeding problems in the Marlin 1895 CB, but it shot well with no sign of pressure. Then I tried my Williams sighted 1885 Browning single shot which put 4 shots into 2″ at 50yds and that included 8 clicks of elevation change and 4 clicks of windage. This is almost more accuracy then I expected. More experimentation to come.

Same here, no problems at all cycling. So far I’ve used 21gr of 4227 which was OK but I want something a bit lighter. Loaded up 2 rounds with 14gr of Unique, haven’t tried them yet. Caught the 10gr of Unique that Intel6 tried, that I’ll need to try out. The 4227 load kicked like a factory 44mag in my lever gun, and the noise was a bit much. I’ve tried 11gr of Unique with the 405gr, now that was fun but a bit to much lead to send down range.

I shot some more with the Williams sighted 1885 and the collar button loads. 12 gr of Green Dot in 7 shots gave an average velocity of 1533 fps with a standard deviation of 11. Very light kick and all 7 went into a center to center group 3/4″wide by 7/8″ high at 50yds. Very clean burning and no leading.
I only used a bag of plastic pellets from a bean bag chair, perched on top of a cement block as a front rest. I’d bet if I put the scope back on and used my good rests this combo will shoot less than an inch at 100. I say that, but I really don’t know how this bullet will stabilize at further distances. We’ll see.

I took the 1885 to the range to try the CB at 100yds. It took 66 clicks on the Williams to bring it down from it’s 200yd setting with a 405gr bullet. I’m happy to report that all bullets went straight through with no tipping.
