Any interest?  My two marlin 45-70s would like a heavier bullet for a future elk hunt

Ran it as a conventional lube groove some time back.

Have the tooling and could work it in.

Thanks Al.  I would be interested in buying one someday as would many others.

                I would be interested.
The only reservation I have is the very narrow bottom driving band. I’m not sure why it isn’t as robust as the other driving bands, and have ocassionally found it to be fragile if casting fast with a hot mould.
I’d like to see that band widened in every mould I have that incorporates it. It seems to me that it would only improve an already excellent design.
Is there a reason for the narrow band that I’m missing?

Yes – the original design was for a PB and in trying to keep as true to a ranch dog bullet as we could and make a GC that is what we got.

                    Thanks for the info, Al.
I wasn’t aware that the earlier 459-425 (I think) was modified from an original plain-base design. I’m relatively new to “Ranch Dog” designs, so the question had been on my mind but I’d never asked.
Has Michael drawn any .460 GC-specific designs recently?

My design was a TLC460-425 that I’ve renamed TLC460-435-RF to better reflect the actual weight of the bullet. When I designed the 460 series of bullets, I was using Lyman #2 as my target alloy and later changed it to wheel weights plus 2% tin to better reflect what my customers where using. I also failed to consider the weight of the gas check with all the “460” bullets so all have been renamed. Here is the drawing for my bullet.

Swede and I have started referring to my designs simple by diameter and weight, 460-435, as he is offering so that the lube grooves and nose styles (hollow point), don’t confuse the designations more than necessary.

I like that one that RD designed.  It looks like it would work well in my Marlin.  Mark me as interested in a mold.

since you have the tooling al could this be worked in as an inventory run? mabe as a rd and conventional loob  run? or would it involve 2 runs?

                                thanks
