      Hi all,

Just wanting to know if you think I would  need to size a 460 bullet or could I shoot it as it drops from the mold .
I know about slugging barrels but was thinking others would be shooting a marlin 1895 SBL 45.70 and have some experience with this.

      Thanks

Always best to slug your own barrel as then you know what your dimensions are, even with the same model of rifle no two barrels will be exactly the same dimensions as the tooling wears in use. Slug your bore and free bore and then you will know what your rifle needs rather what someone else’s rifle needs.

          Dromia,

Thanks for the reply, yes you are right I will have to slug it, I was just trying to cut corner which is not a good practice really.

I know Lee molds drop bullets the can be lubed and loaded , they do this by casting under sized bullets, because this causes barrel leading and poor performance , for these reasons I give up on lee molds long ago, I am after near jacketed bullet performance from my cast bullets
